FOR FAMILY CAREGIVERS, PROFESSIONAL CAREGIVERS, OFWs, AND CARE TEAMS

You are not failing at caregiving. You were never taught how dementia changes the brain.

Meet Care Academe

A practical dementia care training program built around real homes, real behaviors, and real Filipino family experiences.

By the end of the program, you will no longer see yourself as “just a bantay.”

Care Academe is the structured online training program of Dementia Up Close & Personal, created to help caregivers move from reacting in fear to responding with calm, skill, and understanding.

This is not a course filled with medical terms that families cannot use.

It teaches you what to do when the person:

  • Repeats the same question

  • Refuses to bathe

  • Becomes angry during care

  • Asks to go home

  • Wanders or tries to leave

  • Stops sleeping at night

  • Refuses food

  • Becomes suddenly more confused

  • Accuses people of stealing

  • No longer recognizes familiar people

You will learn how to look beneath the behavior, identify possible unmet needs, recognize medical warning signs, communicate without constant correction, and create a safer care environment.

Dementia care becomes harder when no one explains what the behavior means

Families are often told to be more patient.

But patience alone does not tell you:

  • Why the person is suddenly shouting

  • Why bathing feels frightening

  • Why correcting them makes the argument worse

  • Why behavior changes late in the afternoon

  • Why sudden confusion may be a medical red flag

  • Why the main caregiver is becoming resentful or exhausted

  • How to organize family responsibilities before conflict grows

Care Academe gives you a clear system for understanding what may be happening and deciding what to do next.

Everything you need to care with more clarity, safety, and confidence

Your enrollment gives you more than video lessons. It gives you a complete dementia care learning system.

The next difficult behavior may still happen.

The person may still repeat questions.

Refuse care.

Become confused.

Or ask to go home.

But you can enter that moment with more understanding, a clearer process, and a safer response.

Care Academe gives you the training to observe first, look for the need, recognize medical warning signs, communicate calmly, and protect both the person and the caregiver.
